Dr. Hari Sawkar grew up across the country before finding his home in Southern California — a path that mirrors his clinical approach: broad in training, precise in practice, and always moving forward.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Dr. Sawkar has always been drawn to understanding how things work. That curiosity led him to George Washington University in Washington, DC, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering — a foundation that shapes how he thinks about every urologic problem he encounters.

He went on to earn his MD from the prestigious Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, where he developed a deep appreciation for evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care. His residency at USC / LA General Medical Center — one of the busiest and most complex urology programs in the country — gave him extensive experience with the full spectrum of urologic conditions, from routine to highly complex.

Since establishing his practice in Orange County, Dr. Sawkar has been a consistent voice for innovation in urology. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and spoken at professional conferences, contributing to the field he is passionate about. He currently serves as Chief of Urology at Providence St. Joseph Hospital, Orange — a testament to the trust his colleagues and institution place in his clinical leadership.
