Refer a patient
Thank you for trusting the practice with your patient. Referrals are seen quickly, urgent concerns get same-week appointments, and your office receives a consultation note after every visit.
What to send
Patient demographics and insurance, your notes for the relevant problem, and any recent PSA, labs, or imaging. Incomplete records are never a barrier; send what you have.
Scheduling
The office calls your patient directly. Urgent referrals, including acute stones and retention, are seen the same week. Telehealth is available when travel is hard.
Closing the loop
You receive a consultation note after the visit and updates at each decision point, so your patient never disappears into a specialty black box.
Patients who do especially well here
Bothersome BPH
Men failing or tired of medical therapy. The practice offers PAE, UroLift, Rezūm, and Aquablation, so the recommendation fits the anatomy rather than the available tool.
Anticoagulated or higher-risk men
PAE requires no general anesthesia and no interruption of blood thinners for many patients, a practical answer for cardiac and elderly patients.
Very large prostates
PAE and Aquablation both work across the full size range, including glands where office therapies fall short.
Stones, cancer, and men's health
Same-week stone care, robotic prostate and kidney surgery at Providence St. Joseph, and a complete men's health program.

Coordinate a referral
Call the office and ask for the referral coordinator, or fax records to (949) 687-1217. Dr. Sawkar is happy to discuss a case directly.
